Community Services offers Day Program and Community Skills Services. The service you are eligible to participate and how often you participate is determined by your individual needs, availability, and your funding options. Day Program is open Monday through Friday from 8:15am to 3:15pm. You must be 18 years or older to participate. Services can be provided individually or in a group, depending on individual needs. Participants are required to bring a sack lunch each day and a change of clothes to be kept at the day program site. Spending money can be kept at the program in a lock box for activities that have a cost. You can get your money at any time by asking staff. Community Skills is open Monday through Saturday. The program does not provide overnight support, but the times are flexible to meet your individual support needs and choice of activities. Individuals with developmental disabilities of all ages can participate in this program. You will need to bring spending money from home to cover costs for any activity fees and sometimes may need to pay the activity fee for the staff person with you.

Community Services help adults with developmental disabilities develop, maintain, and maximize independent functioning and/or community participation through training in personal, social and educational functioning.

You can learn communication, socialization, domestic and educational skills. Each individual has a service plan designed specifically to meet his or her needs, and all participants are encouraged to reach their full potential.

We help you learn various skills during community activities and/or within the individual’s home. Also, participants are encouraged to join local activities, develop friendships and learn about the community resources available to them.

There is a cost for Community Services programs. Rates vary according to the support needs of the individual. Services are funded through the Department of Mental Health, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DMH/DD). Individuals who do not qualify for DMH/DD or other funding can self-pay. A current cost of services is available upon request.

  1. Your case manager will tell us if you would like to come to our program.
  2. When there is an opening, we will let you know when you can start coming to the program.
  3. We will learn what you can do for yourself and what you need help with.
  4. At the end of your first month, we will have a meeting to make a plan for the things you would like to learn at the program. If funding for your services is through the Department of Mental Health, they may have a waiting list to get those funds. You can talk to your case manager for more information.
